Our Covenant and Unison Affirmation

We are a covenantal community that pledges to be compassionate, graceful, & understanding with each other and to share our wisdom and learn from each other.  At Unity, we have fun together & deepen our relationships. We live out our values in the world and we work for peace and goodwill, but also for justice & ever more equity for all people.

An important part our Unitarian Universalist history is reciting our a set of promises, or covenant, about how we want to be together.  We do this each week during our worship service by reciting our Unison Affirmation.

We pledge to walk together in the ways of truth and affection, as best we know them now or may learn them in the days to come, that we and our children may be fulfilled and that we may speak to the world in words and actions of peace and goodwill.

We are united in our commitment to the seven fundamental principles that are affirmed and promoted by all Unitarian Universalist congregations:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person

  • Justice, equity and compassion in human relations

  • Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;

  • A free and responsible search for truth and meaning

  • The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large

  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all

  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part
