Unity Hosts the Five Points Cluster
Pope Leo recently apologized for the way the Catholic Church participated in the slave trade. Human emancipation is something we still struggle with as weaponized racism runs rampant but change comes. It took a long time for the Union soldiers to reach Galveston, but they did. America still hasn't fully dealt with the legacy of slavery, and a new form of Jim Crow manifests itself in our day and age, but the troops made it to Galveston, and together we will make it to a better tomorrow.
